This anthology of nineteen trouvre songs dating from the twelfth and thirteenth centuries includes six works by Gace Brul as well as songs by eight other named poet-composers and three anonymous pieces; the choice illustrates virtually the full range of trouvre song. All the compositions are monophonic and may be found useful by instrumentalists as well as singers.
